There is nothing more annoying than requesting a “Forgotten Password” link or being told you’ve been sent an email by Instagram, only to find that your profile is linked with an email account that you no longer use.
How many times have you accidentally sent to an email to an email account you no longer have access to, or that you have forgotten the password for years ago?
Pretty annoying, right?!
Well, here’s how to change your email on Instagram so that you never miss an update again.
6 Steps To Change Your Email Address on Instagram
- Head to your profile, and click on ‘Edit Profile’ just underneath your bio
- Select ‘Personal Information Settings’ at the bottom of the edit profile screen
- This brings up your Accounts Centre, taking you directly to the Personal Details that Meta has linked to your account (Meta is the parent company of both Instagram and Facebook, and is the reason why your social media accounts across both platforms are so intrinsically linked)
- Click on ‘Contact Information’
- You will find yourself on a screen which lists all the email addresses connected to your Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as any mobile numbers. Click on ‘Add New Contact’ at the bottom of the screen, then select ‘Add Email Address’
- Enter the email address that you want to add to your Instagram account and select the Instagram profile that you want to add it to. When you select this box, a red text pop up will appear, informing you that the new email will replace your old one. Click ‘Next’ to confirm – and voila!
This is the quickest way to update the email address linked with your Instagram account, so that you never miss an email again.
