How to Change Email on TikTok

There is nothing worse than losing access to your TikTok account and then realising that your email for the recovery link and verification check is incorrect.

While having the wrong email connected with your TikTok account may seem like a minor issue when everything is working smoothly, if something goes wrong and you lose access to your account, this minor inconvenience becomes a major issue.

Which is why, when your email account changes, or you lose access to an old email inbox, it’s important to change and update your social media logins accordingly.

Here is a quick guide to changing your email on TikTok so that you never lose access to your account on a lasting basis.

5 Steps to Change Your Email Address

1. Navigate to your profile page on TikTok and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner, indicated by the three horizontal lines
2. Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Account’
3. Click on ‘User Information’ then ‘Email’
4. Opt to ‘Change Email’. A verification code will be sent to the email address which is currently linked to your account. You will need to enter this verification code in order to be able to change your connected email address
5. Enter your new email address in the box provided and click on ‘Send Code’. A second verification code will be sent, this time to your new email address. Enter this in the box provided to confirm the update

And voila!

NOTE: You need to have access to both your old and new email account if you want to be able to update your email address quickly and easily. If you don’t, then you will need to get in contact with TikTok customer services for advice on how best to change your email address and update your personal details on the app.
