Your phone number is the best means of verifying your account on any device that you want to log in with, meaning that you need to keep your phone number updated.
If you do not update your number, you will be unable to receive a verification code via text.
3 Steps to Change an Old Phone Number
If you get a new phone number, you need to update your TikTok settings.
- Head to your profile page and tap on the menu button in the top right hand corner, indicated by the three horizontal lines
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Manage Account’
- Select ‘Phone Number’ then ‘Change Phone’
Before changing your number, you will need to verify that it is you requesting the update. To do this, you will need to receive a verification code via your existing / old phone or an alternative method like email.
Once approved, you can update your personal details and ensure that should anything affect your ability to log into TikTok, you always have a back up method and verification check available.
