The great thing about favourited videos on TikTok is that the videos you choose to favourite are sent to a specific grid on your profile, which can be made public or else locked for your eyes only.
The favourite function is flagged with an icon which looks like a vertical flag outline – with users able to create collections and different albums within their favourites folder or organise and manage the videos that they want to access and watch again at a later date.
Having said that, sometimes a video that you have favourited in the past becomes irrelevant or no longer of any interest. This is when it becomes useful to know how to delete your favourites.
Where to Find Your Favourites on TikTok
To delete a video that you have favourited on TikTok, you first need to find the right place where these videos are stored.
Head to your profile on TikTok and focus your attention on the grey icons which sit above the grid of videos. Click on the one which looks like a vertical flag.
NOTE: If this icon is layered with an eye with a line through it, that means that your favourites grid is hidden from public view and can only be seen by you. If it doesn’t have this eye symbol, then your favourited videos are all public.
If you are an organised TikTok user, then you may have separated these favourites into different albums – called Collections. If not, they will all be saved under ‘Posts’. You will also find favourited sounds, effects, places, playlists, and more in this same menu.
3 Steps to Delete Favourites
Having found your favourites, here are the 3 steps you need to take to delete select videos…
- Navigate to the video by scrolling through the individual favourited posts or by finding it in a specific collection
- Tap on the video that you want to delete or remove from your favourites
- With the video open, re-select the flag icon so that it goes white again
This removes your favourited action and will delete the video from your collection and from your favourites grid.
And voila! The process really is as quick and easy as that.
