How to Download Instagram Data

Did you know that you can download a copy of all the data that Instagram has relating to your account?

This allows you to download and export all of the messages, captions, comments, and posts that are linked with your account – giving you tons of insight into the kind of content that performs well on your profile and letting you back up anything you might lose later down the line if your account is hacked or deleted.

Here’s how to download all that data in 5 short steps.

5 Steps To Download Your Instagram Data

1. On your profile page, open the menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the top right hand corner of the screen

2. Click on ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Accounts Centre’

3. Click on ‘Information and Permissions’

4. Here you can see a page with options relating to the information that Meta as a whole has on you. This will span any Instagram and Facebook accounts you have that are connected to the same email. Select ‘Download Your Information’

5. Click on the button that reads ‘Download Or Transfer Information’ and select the accounts that you want to view information for. Once you’ve completed this and given Instagram the best email address to contact you, your request will be sent off to Meta HQ.

And voila! You can expect to receive your data in a downloadable format within a couple of days!
