TikTok is a platform that is best accessed via the app.

While many users choose to download the use TikTok on their mobile device or tablet, if you are a creator who’s keen on detailed editing and creating professional videos, then you may want to access TikTok on a larger screen.

Enter the Apple Mac – and the process to download TikTok onto your device.

4 Steps to Download TikTok on a Mac Device

1. Contrary to popular belief, downloading TikTok onto your Mac is not as simple as visiting the app store and clicking on that trusty download button. This is because you first need to install a third party app which supports the use of the mobile-friendly app on a desktop-style device. Search for BlueStacks in your Mac’s web browser and download the Installer Package
2. Launch the download folder and follow the on screen instructions to download BlueStacks onto your device, ensuring it is not blocked by any security settings
3. Create a Google account and sign into the Play Store
4. Search for TikTok and install it within the BlueStacks app on your Mac. This ensures that all the features which are built for mobile will be accessible and easy to use on your Mac device

And voila! Despite the slightly lengthy process, once you’ve completed the above steps you will find your TikTok works in much the same way as it would on a mobile – allowing you to edit videos properly and access all the normal features and tools.

Happy creating!
