How to Find Contacts on TikTok

If you’re new to TikTok and want to quickly populate your app with people you know and want to connect with, then the best thing to do is to link your app with your existing contacts.

You can do this through your device contact list and by linking TikTok to other social media apps – notably Facebook.

Here’s how to do it.

3 Steps to Connect TikTok to Your Contact List

1. Navigate to your profile on TikTok and click on the ‘Add Friends’ icon
2. Tap ‘Find’ next to the Contacts option
3. Grant TikTok permission to access your device contact list, and then follow any friends who you want to connect with from your contact list

Find Facebook Friends on TikTok

Following the above steps to reach that ‘Add Friends’ page of the app, TikTok will also offer you a chance to connect the app with your Facebook login, finding friends and people who you know through the Meta-owned app.

This can help to further expand and grow your TikTok community, which is good for building your profile.

How to Remove Synced Friends and Contacts

Want to enhance your privacy and remove the connection between TikTok and your contacts?

This is easy to do via your app settings, navigating first to your profile and then selecting the ‘Privacy’ settings via the menu button.

Once in the ‘Privacy’ menu, tap ‘Sync Contacts and Facebook Friends’ and make sure the toggle is switched off.

Any friends who you already follow will remain in your TikTok community. However, any friends or contacts who you don’t follow will be removed from your TikTok app.
