TikTok has taken a step towards other social media platforms and apps by developing its own story mode – that is, a kind of content that users can create and share, which lasts for 24 hours on the app before it disappears.
Story mode enables users to create a piece of content, be it a short video or an image, which is captured directly in the app and then shared as a story update.
TikTok Story content can also be crafted from uploaded media files – with added effects, text, and all the other elements you would expect from a TikTok clip.
So, how do you capture footage and photos in story mode?
Navigate to Story Mode in 3 Steps
- In the TikTok app, click on the large plus sign in the bottom centre position on your screen
- Along the bottom of the screen where it says ‘Post,’ ‘Story, and ‘Templates’, select ‘Story’
- The capture button will turn blue to let you know that you are in story mode. You can tap this button to snap a photo, press and hold to film a clip, or click ‘Upload’ to build a TikTok story from existing content on your device
Once you’re happy with your story content, you can share it – with followers able to view the story for 24 hours before it disappears.
A quick and easy way to share updates with followers, without committing to a full post!v
