Have you lost a TikTok draft that you were working on?
Before you panic, consider this one question. Do you remember which device you created the draft on?
Unlike drafts across other social media platforms, TikTok drafts are saved locally to the device that they were created on. What this means is that if you create the draft on a smartphone, it is not saved to any other device, other than that smartphone. You can’t log into your TikTok app on a tablet and hope to work on the same draft – because it won’t be there.
So, step one is to search all of your devices in case you actually created the draft somewhere else.
Why You Won’t Find a TikTok Draft on Your Phone
Unfortunately, not only are TikTok drafts only available locally on the device that you created them on, but they also cannot be exported or saved anywhere other than inside the app.
So, you will not be able to save or find a TikTok draft in your device camera roll.
The best you can do is save chunks of footage as you go, so that you can piece them back together if you lose a draft or decide to start again.
One Thing NOT to Do
Finally, if you can’t find a draft but are sure that you saved it on a smartphone or device, the number one trick to avoid is uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
While this is our go-to for many issues, if you do this when searching for a draft, you will 100% lose the draft. Why? Because deleting the app automatically deletes any drafts that were saved inside it.
It’s annoying when you lose a draft that you were working on – but don’t give up hope! Search other devices that you access and browse TikTok on, and don’t be afraid to start again (you might even make it better!)
