If you like a story on Instagram, then the user who posted it will be able to see your interaction as a little love heart whenever they look at the stats for each story that they post.
With Instagram removing the ability to see which users have viewed and watched a story, generally the “like” is the only way to see which users have definitely engaged with your content – making it a valuable piece of information for brands, creators, and personal account managers alike.
But how exactly do you like an Instagram story? Well, it couldn’t really be easier.
3 Steps to Like an Instagram Story
- To view a user’s story, click on their profile picture – either from the top carousel on your home screen, or directly from their profile or your DM inbox chat with them
- Once you find a story update that you want to like, click on the little white heart outline in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
- This heart will go red, indicating that you have “liked” their story
And the rest is history! This is a great way to engage with your friends and connections and show them that you really do care about what they post!
