The beauty of Meta, which owns both Facebook and Instagram, is that users can enjoy a highly connected experience spanning the two apps – and others which are linked under the Meta parent company.

From one-click sharing to sending content from one platform to another, the Meta Accounts Centre is primed to connect your profiles and facilitate quick and easy logins and more.

But how do you make sure that the two social platforms are in sync and connected?

What Is the Meta Accounts Centre?

When you head into your Settings menu on both Instagram and Facebook, you will see the ‘Accounts Centre’ content block sat at the top of the screen.

This is your go-to for everything that links your social platforms, with password and security settings, authentication options, ad preferences, and more.

It is in this Accounts Centre that you can connect the login experience for both Facebook and Instagram, so that the two work in sync…

How to Switch on Connected Login

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook app, or in the top right hand corner of your Instagram app
  2. In the ‘Settings’ menu, click on ‘Accounts Centre’ which will appear at the top of the menu on both social apps
  3. Select ‘Logging in with Accounts’ in the Accounts Centre menu

This is where you can either automatically allow your Instagram and Facebook accounts to be linked and to support each other with the log in process or choose which accounts can be linked via the login process.

NOTE: The ‘Sharing Across Profiles’ option in the Accounts Centre menu is geared towards the sharing of content. When you click through to this section, you can tailor which content is able to be shared between Facebook and Instagram – connecting the two platforms even more.

Suffice to say, because both Instagram and Facebook are operated and managed under the Meta company, it’s easy to connect the two for sharing and a cohesive login experience. All you need to do is access the right section of the Accounts Centre menu and personalise your experience according to your user preference. Happy sharing!
