What is a continuous Instagram post, and how do you make one?
There are a multitude of different ways that users describe various Instagram uploads. Posts, videos, and reels can all be used to refer to the same short form piece of content – demonstrating just how important terminology is when discussing different types of post.
A continuous Instagram post is most often used to describe a carousel post, which is when multiple images are uploaded as part of the same post.
Here’s how to upload a continuous carousel of images in 5 short steps.
5 Steps to Make a Continuous Carousel Post
- Click on the plus sign in the centre of your home screen to instantly start creating a new post. Alternatively, click on the plus sign at the top of your profile page and select ‘Create Post’.
- Find the image that you want to make the cover of your carousel. It is important that you complete this step before proceeding as once you set your post to display multiple images, images will be numbered based on the order you select them in.
- Once you’re happy with your cover image, click on the icon which depicts stacked square boxes.
- Now select any other image that you want to include in your post (up to 10).
- Select ‘Next’ and edit the images as normal, before writing a caption and posting.
As users scroll through the images attached to your carousel post, this can easily be described as a continuous post in that it gives a seamless experience and journey to the user.
Do you enjoy browsing through carousel posts, or are you more a fan of the quickfire single image posts and videos?
