Have you come across a sound or audio clip on TikTok that you want to use as a ringtone on your smartphone?
Luckily, it’s perfectly possible to do so – by downloading the sound onto your device, converting it to an audio file, and then uploading it as a ringtone.
In this article, we’re taking you through the process from discovery through to confirming your new ringtone.
5 Steps to Make a TikTok Sound Into a Ringtone
- Find a video that uses the sound that you want to save and download it to your device through TikTok. You can do this by tapping on the sweeping arrow ‘Share’ button on the right hand side of the video and selecting ‘Save Video’
- Open a Media Converter app and upload the video, selecting the ‘Video to Audio’ option to isolate and separate the sound
- Move into the editing tools and select ‘Make Ringtone’ in the same Media Converter app
- Trim and finetune the sound until it’s the perfect ringtone for your device, then choose to open the sound in GarageBand (another app on your device that allows you to create and set ringtones)
- In GarageBand, locate the audio and select ‘Ringtone’ then ‘Export’
You will now be able to set the sound as your ringtone for all incoming calls and for calls from specific friends or contacts.
And there you have it! Your very own ringtone, created using a sound that you first came across on TikTok!
