Have you recently experienced a day out, a holiday, or an occasion that you want to share on TikTok?
You don’t have to have live footage or video clips to produce a TikTok video – in fact, you can turn an album of photos and pictures into an engaging TikTok video with the addition of music and some clever editing.
How to Create a TikTok Video From Pictures
Before you dive into TikTok to start making your video, make sure that your pictures and the images that you want to use are all saved to your device camera roll and are easily accessible.
Then follow these simple steps to turn a series of pictures into a seamless video…
- Click on the large plus sign in the centre at the bottom of your screen on TikTok to start a new video
- Click on the ‘Upload’ button, situated on the right hand side of the capture button
- This will open a grid of images and media files from your device. Select the small circle in the top right hand corner of every picture that you want to add to your video, taking care to order them correctly (a number in the corner of each will let you know the order)
- Once you’re happy with your selection, select ‘Next’
- Make sure that your TikTok format is set to ‘Video’ rather than ‘Photo’ using the toggle on the next screen. You will also find on this screen that your pictures automatically start transitioning from one to the next, with a recommended audio clip or song attached. You can change all of this in the editing screen!
From there, your TikTok video can be edited to your heart’s content – changing the length of time that pictures are visible for, adjusting the music, and editing the transition between pictures. You can even layer filters on top of each other or add voiceovers and text to further personalise your video.

How to Add Music to Your Video
As you’ve just read in the section above, when you create a TikTok video from a series of pictures and photos, you will find that TikTok automatically selects a song or audio file to match.
If you want to change this to something else, or have a piece of music in mind, then simply click on the audio box at the top of the screen to open the TikTok sounds menu. Here you can scroll other recommended sounds or search for something specific – whatever best suits your video.
And voila! Once you’re happy with the visual and sound of your video, you can add the relevant caption and hashtags, and share it to your profile. We hope this helps!
