TikTok boasts a ton of features and tools which are designed to make users feel safe and secure when using the app.
One of the easiest features to access if you’re concerned about privacy is the private setting for your profile – blocking those who don’t follow you from seeing your information and your posts, and adding an extra layer which means all potential new followers have to send you a request to follow.

3 Steps to Making Your Account Public
- Head to your profile page on TikTok and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner of the screen, indicated by the three horizontal lines
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Privacy’
- If your account is currently private and you want to make it public, then the toggle at the top of the menu (next to ‘Private Account’) will need to be switched off… and that’s it!
It really is as simple as that!
