5 Steps to Add Text to Your Story
- Click on the plus sign in the square box, along the top of your profile page on Instagram. Select ‘Create Story’
- Find an image that you want to use as the background for your story. Clicking on this will take you through to a full screen view and story editing page
- Click anywhere on the screen and you will see a text editing tool appear, with options to change the font, colours, configuration, and size of the font
- Type your message or caption. When you’re happy with it, click anywhere on the screen to drop that text in place
- You can press and hold on the text to drag it around, and use a magnifying or minimising action to make the text bigger or smaller on the screen
TOP TIP: To really draw attention to the text on your Instagram story and ensure that it stands out, you can add hand drawn lines using the ‘Draw’ tool, add stickers around the outside of your text, or opt for a bright colour to contrast against your background image.
