If something is going wrong with your TikTok app, the final recommendation (and the one which connects pretty much all technology and devices) is to switch it off and on again.
On TikTok, this usually means a hard restart of the app. But how do you do it?
3 Steps to Restart TikTok
- Close the TikTok app on your device
- Press and hold on the app icon on your home screen and delete it
- Redownload the app and log back into your account
Doing this will automatically update your app to the latest version and will likely overcome any user issues you were experiencing with an earlier version of the app.
But be warned, because there are a few things that become lost as soon as you delete the app.
Any TikTok videos that were saved as drafts will be deleted as soon as the app is deleted and restarted. So, if you want to preserve these drafts, it’s worth either finalising and uploading them to TikTok, or downloading them as videos that you can re-upload when you’re ready.
We hope this helps you to get the most from TikTok – and provides adequate warning as to the perils of deleting an app that’s filled with important and valuable drafts!
