Are you looking to up your game when it comes to TikTok video creation?
The increasing number of features on the app means that creators now have more options available to them than ever before, with regards to editing their videos and making them stand out amid the increasing crowd of competitors.
One standout editing tool which is particularly entertaining is the ability to reverse videos – running them backwards from finish to start. This is a really creative way of highlighting the footage and running it in a different way, adding comedy or a fresh perspective. Some fun ways of using this effect include creating a before and after video, showing the result before highlighting the process, and creating a crazy reverse dance challenge or trend.
Here’s how to jump on the reverse video trend and bring it to life in your own video…
3 Steps to Reverse a Video
- On the TikTok app, click on the large plus sign in the centre at the bottom of your screen. Create your video as normal or upload one from your device camera reel / album.
NOTE: The best videos to reverse are those that have a really clear movement, for example somebody running forward, a car driving, leaves falling from a tree, etc.
- When your recording is complete, click on the ‘Effects’ button in the editing screen
- Find the ‘Time’ effect and then select ‘Reverse’
And voila! Your video will now play in reverse (though only the footage will play in reverse – not the audio!)
We hope this helps. Standing on TikTok is not always easy – however, jumping on trends like this can make your content really pop and add a different spin to your profile.
