When you follow another user on TikTok, you gain access to their content as well as their own activity – with many account holders and users opening their likes and favourited videos to their followers via their profile grid.
But what about those who keep their likes hidden? Is there a way of seeing the kinds of videos that they are engaging with, even with their likes hidden behind a private setting?
What Are Private Liked Videos?
When a TikTok user likes a video, it automatically appears on their profile page, on the grid that’s dedicated to liked videos.
The account holder can access this grid at any time, rewatching all the videos and content that they have engaged with in the past.
However, if they decide to set their liked videos to ‘Private’, this prevents anyone else from being able to see this grid – keeping all past-liked videos solely for themselves.

Can You See Hidden Liked Videos?
While there is no way of uncovering the full grid of liked videos, if the user has chosen to hide this information from their followers, there are other ways of seeing videos that a user has liked.
The first and most obvious way of accessing hidden likes is through your own feed. When you follow and engage with a user, the kind of content that they like will appear on your own feed via TikTok’s algorithm – especially if you display similar behaviour and interests.
As you scroll through your TikTok feed, look out for the usernames that appear as existing likes – letting you know which users have liked different videos, even if they hide their grid from public view.
NOTE: In order for this to work, you need to be following the user whose likes and activity you are interested in.
If you want to track the private and hidden likes of users who you don’t follow, especially those who have a private profile, the only way of doing so is through mutual connections.
Finally, while not a direct way of tracking liked videos, you can use the powers of deduction to tell which types of videos a user is liking, based on their most recent activity. With TikTok using every like to help build a picture of what each user is interested in, knowing which videos the user has recently liked can give you more information and hints on the types of content they have engaged with in the past.
