Like so many social media apps, TikTok operates its own messaging platform within the app which allows users to connect directly with each other.
While there is no way of sharing photos and pictures direct from your phone or device album on this TikTok messaging platform, what you can do is share posts – either that you have favourited or that you have produced yourself. And with TikTok allowing you to filter the audience from public to friends only or an ‘Only You’ exclusive, it’s super easy to control the visibility of a picture you post and then send it to a friend.
5 Steps to Send a Picture via TikTok Message
- Click on the large plus sign in the centre along the bottom of your screen and take or upload the picture that you want to send
- Complete any edits that you want to, and then click ‘Next’ until you reach the caption and final details screen
- Change ‘Who Can See Your Post’ to ‘Only You’
- Share the post
- Open your post and click on the sweeping arrow ‘Share’ button. Find the person who you want to send the post to through TikTok message, and send it
Alternatively, once the post has been shared to your TikTok, you can send it direct through the messaging channel. Simply tap ‘Inbox’ along the bottom of the screen and open a chat with the person who you want to send the picture to. You can then select ‘Share Post’, find the post, and send it straight to them.
Both of these options have the same outcome – sending a picture directly to a friend or follower that you want to connect with on TikTok.
You can also send pictures and posts from TikTok direct through other messaging apps, with TikTok able to be linked with your WhatsApp, Instagram, and other social platforms.
We hope this helps!
