Profile Views is a feature on TikTok which enables you to see who visits and views your profile. It also enables other users to see when you have visited or viewed their profile – with the platform unlocking or locking profile views on both sides, as one action.

In short, if you want to see who views your profile, you need to agree to them also seeing when you view their profile.

Of course, knowing who has viewed your profile can be valuable and incredibly useful information – especially for those looking to build their following and establish a loyal community. Seeing who has viewed your profile – and when – lets you know who finds your content valuable, when they are active, and how often they come looking for more updates from you.

Suffice to say, this is a feature with benefits and drawbacks. And if we assume that you usually enable profile views for the benefit of your strategy and growth, in this article we’re sharing the steps to follow to turn this tool off.

3 Steps to Turn Off Profile Views

  1. Head to your profile page on TikTok and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner
  2. Click on ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Privacy’
  3. Scroll down to ‘Profile Views’ and click. There is a toggle – if it’s blue then that means it is switched on. Tap the toggle once to switch it off.

Switching profile views off means that you won’t see who visits your profile, and other users won’t see when you visit their profile. It’s as simple as that!
