How to Turn On Dark Mode On TikTok

If you have challenges with your visibility – or simply want to find a way to dull the screen when it comes to TikTok browsing late at night – then you’ll probably be interested in dark mode.

Dark mode gives the app a dark background, layered with white text. It does not adjust the way that videos are viewed – simply the background colour and the presentation of text.

Best of all, it couldn’t be easier to turn on and off according to your preference.

3 Steps to Turn On Dark Mode

1. In TikTok, head to your profile page and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner, indicated by the three horizontal lines
2. Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ and then scroll down the menu until you find ‘Display’
3. This is where you can switch between Light and Dark mode – exploring what both look like before deciding which one works best for you

NOTE: The option below to ‘Use Device Settings’ allows TikTok to mimic the light and colour setting of your entire device – whether that uses a light or a dark background screen.

We hope this helps you to protect your eyesight and enable a better user experience come day or night.
