One of the great things about Instagram in 2024 is how easily the app can be adjusted and tailored to your specific needs. From short term deactivation to the transition from personal to business account, the ability to access engagement insights, and the various features which control the way the platform is used, Instagram is super user friendly.

One way that Instagram allows users to control their own presence on the app is through the archiving of specific posts. This hides the post from your profile without actually deleting it, allowing you to return to and reshow it should you decide to do so later down the line.

There are countless reasons why you might decide to archive a post. But what this blog is focussing on is how to reverse the action and restore a post to full glory on your Instagram feed.

Here’s how to unarchive an Instagram post in four short steps.

4 Steps To Unarchive a Post

  1. Head to your Instagram profile, and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner
  2. Select ‘Archive’ with the backwards clock icon
  3. Navigate to ‘Posts archive’ using the dropdown menu at the top of the page
  4. Select the post that you want to unarchive and restore it to your profile by clicking on ‘Show on Profile’. This step will also present you with the option to Delete the post completely.

And there you have it – your archived post is back on your profile grid, ready for followers to engage with, like, and comment on as normal!
