Are you looking for a way to make your TikTok videos look and feel more professional?

The zoom function enables you to change the perspective on your content. Some creators use it to add humour, for example zooming out to show the reality of a situation or setting. Others use it to add context to what they’re saying, or to what the video content is showing.

Luckily for users, you don’t have to be a top ranked creator to access or use this feature – in fact, it’s incredibly easy to use!

NOTE: In order to access the zoom out tool and the benefits that come with this, your video needs to start slightly zoomed in. This enables you to have the lens capacity to zoom out later in your video. So, before we tell you how to zoom out, we first need to talk a little about how to zoom in.

How to Zoom In on TikTok

The easiest way to zoom in is when filming your TikTok.

Click on the plus sign in the bottom centre position on your TikTok screen, to start creating a new TikTok. Press and hold in the centre of the screen with two fingers, and drag them outwards to zoom in. You can then start recording your TikTok, with the lens slightly zoomed in.

To zoom out, you simply reverse the above process. When you’re ready to zoom out and widen the perspective on your screen, press and hold with your fingers separated on the screen, and bring them slowly together to zoom back out to wide screen again.

This is a quick and easy way to make your videos more engaging. You can make content even more compelling by matching your zoom out with a change in music or with a voiceover which complements the effect.

We hope this helps! Perspective, camera angles, and the zoom function are all tools that you should familiarise yourself with if you want to become an influencer or build a large following on TikTok.
