What Does Blue Nails Mean on TikTok?

TikTok is packed full of trends and challenges, with visual aids, captions, acronyms, and audio prompts all concealing different trends and viral video ideas and themes.

One of the most subtle trends of recent years is the blue nails trend – which invites female TikTok users to ask their boyfriend what colour they should paint their nails. Back in 2020, one TikTokker claimed that virtually all males reply with the same colour: light blue.

This has sparked a trend – and an opportunity for other women to test the theory, by posing the same question to their own partner or boyfriend.

And so we are left with the blue nails trend.

Who Has Blue Nails?

Following the above explanation, it seems that someone with blue nails on TikTok is essentially saying that they are in a relationship or are “taken”.

And there you have it!

This might not be a trend with a great deal of meaning, but it’s certainly interesting to finally understand and recognise why so many female users of all ages have painted blue nails evident in their videos!

Is this something that you have already tried for yourself?
