What Does BMF Mean on TikTok?

TikTok is rife with acronyms, shorthand phrases, abbreviations, and social-specific terminology.

One of the latest acronyms to arrive on the platform is ‘BMF’, but what does it mean?

Well, it turns out that it could mean or stand for a number of things. But the most likely is ‘Bad Mother F****’ – used ironically in a very positive and complimentary way.

When to Use Bmf

BMF and its use on TikTok is actually inspired by the phrase being used by key characters in the 1994 classic Pulp Fiction.

It is through this reference that we know BMF is designed for positive use rather than as an insult.

BMF is used most often as a means of describing someone who impresses you. A BMF is someone who has a good attitude, good style, a good personality, or is strong and independent.

So, if someone calls you a BMF on TikTok, or you see the acronym being used about or in reference to someone else, then you know it’s a good thing and should be celebrated!
