What Does DTN Mean on TikTok?

Have you heard of ‘Netflix and Chill’?

This social media trend is one which swept across Snapchat, TikTok, and other social apps a few years ago – representing a new kind of come-on for the dating world and the kind of evening plans that revolve around staying in rather than going out.

And interestingly enough, DTN falls under the same kind of category – with the acronym standing for ‘Down To Netflix’.

Keep reading for a breakdown of how and when this acronym is used.

When to Use Dtn

DTN, otherwise known as Down To Netflix, is another way of saying that someone is in the mood to simply sit back and relax – bingeing on TV series rather than drinks on the town.

Given the come-on underlying meaning of ‘Netflix and Chill’, it is not unheard of that DTN is also used as a form of invitation from someone who wants to hang out – indicating a night in together as a low-key and relaxing date idea.

Another mood that we can read into the DTN acronym is a recognition of the need for self-care and downtime. When a user says that they are DTN instead of going out, they are prioritising relaxation and mental wellbeing – another growing trend across TikTok and in the world of social media for young people.

So, are you DTN?
