When Did Facebook Buy Instagram?
It’s time for a little bit of social media history – this time focusing on when Facebook purchased Instagram, and when the two came together to create what is now known as Meta.

The transaction occurred in 2012 and was shortly followed by Facebook’s purchase WhatsApp’s messaging app in 2014.
Acquiring Instagram and WhatsApp, on top of Facebook and Facebook Messenger, put Mark Zuckerburg at the top of a social media empire – something which was met with mixed reviews, but has continued to serve him well with the rollout of Meta.
