‘Who You Might Know Is On Instagram’ Meaning

Instagram is very much a community platform – and the minds behind the app know it. As such, many of Instagram’s features are built around suggesting actions that users can take to boost their visibility, grow their community, and get even more out of their account and time on the platform.

The ‘Who You Might Know Is On Instagram’ features is designed to draw your attention to profiles that you don’t follow but with whom you have some connections – be it mutual friends, the same location, or even someone who is listed in your phone as a contact.

The idea of this is to connect users who have things in common, but who might not have found each other on Instagram yet.

NOTE: This is a particularly good way of finding the accounts and profiles of those who you know, but who may be operating under a business account name or different persona. For example, if you have a friend in your local area who runs a business and a business profile on Instagram, this feature will help you to find them by using the information and data you have in common. Thus, even without knowing their username or business name, you can still find them on Instagram!
