Are you struggling to save TikTok videos and download them to your device?
There are a number of issues that could be at play, blocking your ability to transfer videos away from TikTok and onto your device. Here are some of the main ones…
The Creator Has Blocked Downloads
Perhaps the most common reason why you may be unable to save videos on TikTok is that the creator has disabled the save feature.
If a creator has not switched on the toggle to allow users to download a video, then you will not be able to download the video.
Your TikTok App Doesn’t Have Storage Permission
This is another fairly common issue and tends to pop up when users have an issue with their device storage and so block apps from being able to directly fill the device storage with media and other files.
This will likely need to be addressed in your device settings, with a quick change to permissions suddenly enabling you to turn a TikTok video that you like into a downloaded and saved file.
Your Connection Is Poor
In order for users to be able to interact and engage on TikTok, they need to have a good connection. If your connection is poor then you will likely find certain activities blocked, for example the ability to save videos to your device.
If this is the case, consider trying a different network or wait until you have a better connection.
The Creator Account Is Private
Another common issue and a main reason why you may not be able to save a TikTok video is that the creator’s account is private.
Now, if you are able to view the video in the first place then the chances are you are already a follower – however, if the user doesn’t specify that saves and downloads are allowed, then this might be as far as you can go in interacting with the video. If you don’t follow the creator, then you won’t be able to view the video at all.
Suffice to say, there are a number of reasons why you may be unable to download or save a video from TikTok. If you have tried all of the above and ruled them out as issues, then you might want to try updating your app or else reach out to TikTok HQ to report an issue. We hope this helps!
