A collection is a form of folder or album on your TikTok profile, that allows you to manage and segment your favourited videos.
Any video that you choose to favourite – that is, tap on the flag shaped icon at the bottom of the reaction menu – is sent to a folder on your profile, which can be organised into different collections.
Collections can be managed as per each users preference and can be made public or private. In this blog, we’re sharing the process of creating a collection and how to change the name of a collection once it has been set up on your profile.
Creating a Collection
To find your collections, you need to first navigate to your profile and then select the favourites icon along the top of your grid. This is indicated by the sideways flag symbol, which may or may not have a block sign attached to it (indicating whether or not your favourites are set to private).
Here, you can see any existing collections, or click on the ‘Create New Collection’ banner along the top of the grid.
When you select ‘Create New Collection’ a box will appear inviting you to type a collection name, alongside a toggle to make the collection public or keep it private.
Editing a Collection Name on TikTok
If you want to change the name of an existing collection, you first need to navigate to the right collection and click on it to open the full selection of videos and clips.
Tap on the sweeping arrow icon in the top right hand corner of the screen and select ‘Change Name’.
This will open a pop up box which enables you to change the name of your collection – with up to 30 characters available. On this same menu, you can change your collection from public to private (and back again) and can delete entire collections.
And voila! Following these steps will enable you to not only organise and manage your favourited videos, but also change the name of collections as you change the videos that are saved inside them.
