In a world where genuine content creation is being constantly threatened by the rise of AI and AI-generated content, finding ways of getting noticed on social media is more challenging than ever.

One of the most recent pieces of advice from Instagram, and its platform owner Meta, is to turn livestream content into an ad, through content boosting investment.

But how does this work and how do creators know when and what to invest in terms of boosted content?

Why Invest Ad Spend in Livestreams?

The beauty of livestream is that the content is typically incredibly authentic and reactive. It gives the audience genuine and relatable insight into the creator’s world and creates opportunities for real interactions and engagement.

The advice from Instagram, to invest ad spend in this livestream content, serves to boost visibility, create a bigger audience, and improve engagement and conversion as a result.

In short, a creator can either pre-select livestream content that they want to boost, to maximise the number of users who will be aware of it and who will tune in to watch it, or choose to boost it as they go live. Both options turn content into an ad which maximises reach and serves to increase the number of Instagram views a profile receives.

Best of all, Instagram has removed the lengthy ad set-up process and equipped creators with a simple “Boost” button that does all the hard work for them. Is this a tool that you’ll be looking to use to increase your visibility and engagement across Instagram?
