If you’ve ever dug deep into someone’s Facebook profile or spent time exploring all the personal information connected to your profile page, then you will likely be familiar with the Life Events section.

This the part of your profile that’s hidden in your ‘About’ page, and details information relating to house moves, job moves, and big milestones in your life.

These are listed chronologically and are designed to keep your followers up to date with the things going on in your life.

So, how do you add a new life event?

5 Steps to Add a New Life Event

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook screen
  2. Click on your name to navigate to your profile page, then select ‘Edit Public Details’ underneath your Details content block at the top of your profile feed
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the Key Details and select ‘Edit Your About Info’
  4. You will find an About page that lists all the information you’ve given Facebook, regarding where you work, your education, relationships, and more. Scroll down to the section under the heading ‘Life Events’
  5. Click on the blue button that reads ‘Add Life Event’ at the top of this section of the menu

Once in the Life Events page, you can tap on the blue ‘Create’ button and move through the options, personalising your new life event so that it accurately reflects what you want to celebrate.

Some of the options available include living situation, new interests and hobbies, wellness milestones, travel, family changes, your relationship, and work or education.

The more Life Events you add to your Facebook profile, the more your Facebook will become an accurate reflection of your life away from the social platform and away from personal devices.
