One of the most popular features on TikTok, especially when creating voiceovers for videos and content reels, is the voice change tool.
Otherwise known in the app as voice effects, this tool enables you to filter your voice through a series of different options – changing your voice according to the topic or purpose of your content.
In this article, we’re sharing a quick guide on how to access this feature and change your voice quickly and effortlessly – choosing from a wide selection of options which range from animal voices to different accents, ages, and more.
5 Steps to Change Your Voice on TikTok
- Open TikTok, click on the plus sign in the central panel along the bottom of your screen, and record your video – both the sound and the visual components
- Click on ‘Edit’ at the top of the menu which runs down the right hand side of the screen
- Along the bottom under your footage reel, you will see a button that says ‘Voice Effects’. Click on this (NOTE: You have to have the footage reel selected in order for this option to be available, so be sure to click in the reel and border it with a thick white line)
- Test the different voice effects by selecting them and seeing how they sound
- Once you’re happy with your selection, click on the exit button which will take you back to the TikTok edit screen
You can then add your caption and finalise your TikTok video, ready to share. And there you have it! A TikTok which uses a unique and varied soundscape to add context to your content and make it stand out.
