A poll is a type of post that you can create within a group on Facebook.
Facebook users who manage pages can also create a poll to share on their feed, picking up responses from those who follow the page.
While polls cannot be shared as standard posts from private accounts, they can be created in the places where they are most needed, and are a valuable tool used by business account holders and page managers.
Benefits of a Poll on Facebook
The number one benefit of a poll on Facebook is that it encourages engagement. Whether you are a private user seeking an opinion from friends and family in a group, or a business looking to ignite some interaction from your followers, a poll is a great way of making it easy for people to connect with you.
Keep reading for our guide on how to make a poll and pick up some interaction from your friends and followers.
How to Set up a Poll
- Navigate to your Page owner view on Facebook, or if you are a private user then head into the group that you want to share a poll in
- Click on the ‘What’s on your mind’ box to start a new post
- Select the ‘Poll’ option from the list of post styles
- You can then type the different options for your poll, adding as many as you like. The toggle underneath the poll options lets you decide whether users can select multiple answers or choose just one
- Once you’ve created your poll and added it to your post, you can use the standard text box of your post to introduce the poll and share instructions on how followers and friends should answer
A poll on Facebook will remain active for as long as you need it to.
It’s as simple as that!
