When you upload new photos to Facebook, you can either upload them to your feed, set them as your profile image, or add them to a new or existing album.

Facebook albums are a quick and easy way to organise your photos and store them as set memories – with users able to grant collaboration rights to friends, thus allowing them to also add photos to and contribute towards an album.

While users are able to upload as many albums as they like to their Facebook account, sometimes there comes a time when you want to delete an album. And that’s where this article comes in…

4 Steps to Delete an Album

  1. Navigate to your profile page on Facebook and select the ‘Photos’ heading along the top of your feed, underneath your personal information
  2. Find the album that you want to delete and click to open it
  3. Select the three dots icon in the top right hand corner of the album screen and then choose ‘Edit Album’ from the pop up menu
  4. On the ‘Edit Album’ screen, select ‘Delete Album’ (in red text) and confirm the action via the pop up box

And voila! Your album has been removed. But what about all the photos in it?

Does Deleting an Album Remove All the Photos?

Yes, when you delete an album on Facebook you will also delete all the photos that are stored in that album.

If you want to delete the album without losing all the photos, you can transfer them by clicking on the three dots icon in the album and then selecting ‘Transfer Photos’.

So, while deleting an album will remove all the photos connected and saved in that album, provided you take the right steps to transfer them to somewhere else, you should be able to delete the album without losing all your images.

We hope this helps!
