TikTok Now is a relatively new feature that has not yet been rolled out to every user. It mimics the format of the BeReal app, inviting users to snap a photo or video in the position that they find themselves when the notification comes through. The aim is to capture a still or video on both cameras, with a selfie and a front-facing viewpoint.
The way that this feature works is that users receive a notification once a day at any time, giving them a short window in which to capture their Now moment. When they upload theirs, they can browse the Now moments of other users that they follow in return.
TikTok Now is, undoubtedly, another great way of engaging on the app. But not everyone wants the notification to appear on a daily basis – which is why some users are now wondering how to delete the feature.
Can You Delete the Feature?
Unfortunately there is no way to delete the TikTok Now feature entirely.
However, there are things that you can do to minimise its presence in your TikTok app and overall experience.
For example, in the Settings and Privacy section of your profile, you can manage the push notifications and switch off those relating to TikTok Now. This will prevent you from receiving the daily reminder, therefore minimising the presence of TikTok Now on your app.
You can also simply bypass the Now posts of your friends – many of which will remain blurred out until you upload your own Now post.
As is often the case on TikTok and other social media platforms, the less you engage with the trend the less impact it will have on your experience.
How to Delete Past Now Uploads
If you want to delete a Now that you have uploaded, you can do so by navigating to the post and clicking on the sweeping arrow ‘Share’ button in the bottom right corner of the post. Select ‘Delete’ and your upload will disappear.
