Facebook reels are among the most digestible, popular forms of content currently available on the platform.

Not only are they short in length but they often follow trending formats and use audio clips and songs that resonate with users at the time.

In short, if you want to create content that has a high chance of being shared and of potentially going viral among your followers and an extended audience, your best option is to design a reel.

Of course, for those users who consider themselves consumers rather than creators, you might be wondering whether it’s possible to reopen reels that you’ve seen before and want to watch again. Perhaps you want to share it with a friend, or rewatch the reel to pick up some tips or instructions.

Whatever your reason, here’s a quick guide to finding reels you’ve already watched on Facebook.

Before we share the process of finding reels you’ve already watched, it’s useful to understand exactly why this process is necessary to explain.

Facebook’s tailored feed, which tracks and monitors the behaviour and interests of each individual user, means that every time the Facebook page is refreshed, the content on it changes.

So, you might watch a reel and then close Facebook – only to find a whole new set of content available when you reopen the platform.

While this makes the discovery of new content super easy and accessible to all users, it can be frustrating when you lose a reel that you were interested in sharing or watching again. Which is why the following process is so useful to know…

5 Steps to Find a Reel You’ve Already Watched

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen
  2. Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Settings’
  3. Under the ‘Your Activity’ heading, select ‘Activity Log’
  4. Underneath the grey buttons, and above the list of dropdown menus, you will find a carousel of blue buttons. Scroll through until you see the one labelled ‘Videos Watched’ and click on it
  5. You will see a menu that’s sectioned by date, that lets you see all the videos you’ve watched on Facebook and who posted them

Alternatively, you can head to your profile and click on the ‘Reels’ button next to your Posts and Photos shortcut buttons. Using one of the two available filter buttons, you can see all reels that you have liked or saved as part of your browsing journey on Facebook.

We hope this helps you to rediscover content you’ve enjoyed in the past on Facebook! Happy posting!
