As one of the most engaging and sociable apps in the social media sphere, it won’t surprise you to learn that TikTok uses a range of different engagement stats and tools to determine which videos are popular and which videos you might like to see in your ‘For You’ feed.

On top of that, you may or may not already know that videos which you like are automatically transferred into a folder on your profile, giving you quick and easy access to all the videos that you’ve seen and liked during your scroll time.

However, did you know that you can hide the videos you like from the view of others, so that only you can see this grid of liked videos?

Here’s how to hide your likes, and in doing so protect your privacy on TikTok.

5 Steps to Hide Your Likes

Before we dive into the process of hiding your liked videos, it’s first useful to know where exactly you can find these videos for future reference.

These videos can be found by heading to your profile and scrolling along the grid options, until you reach the one that’s headered by the heart icon. This is the grid dedicated to videos that you have liked.

Now, let’s look at how to hide this grid so that only you can see it…

  1. Navigate to your profile on TikTok
  2. Click on the menu button in the top right hand corner, indicated by the three horizontal lines
  3. Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Privacy’
  4. Scroll down to ‘Liked Videos’ which is listed under the Interactions section of the menu
  5. To hide your likes, click on ‘Only You’

Once you’ve selected this, the icon which sits on top of the grid of liked videos will show a heart with a cross-out eye on top of it. This tells you that nobody else can see the content in this grid.

And there you have it! A quick and easy way of hiding the videos that you’ve liked on TikTok, so that you can browse safe in the knowledge that other users aren’t tracking or watching which videos you are liking and engaging with.
