Most of us who regularly use Instagram will have a whole host of accounts that we follow, spanning friends, family members, acquaintances, and industry or branded accounts that share content we are interested in or inspired by.
But while it’s perfectly normal to follow a branded account that doesn’t follow you back, when it comes to friends and those who you know, you might be interested to find out who has chosen to follow you back and who hasn’t.
You can often tell which users are actually engaged with your account and updates by how often they like and comments on your posts. But how can you check to see whether an account is following you or not?

How to Check On Their Profile
Head to the profile page of the user in question and click on the ‘Following’ button at the top of their profile page.
If they are following you, your account will be at the top of the list.

How to Check On Your Profile
Head to your profile page on Instagram and click on ‘Followers’ along the top of your page.
This will bring up a list of all the accounts that follow you. You can use the search bar along the top to search for the user in question – if they show up then they follow you, if not then they don’t.
NOTE: In order to ensure that you search for their correct account, familiarise yourself with their username before searching. This will avoid any awkward uncertainty around whether you are searching for the right user, and whether or not you easily find them on your following list.
