Have you ever browsed your friends list, or scrolled through your feed on Facebook, only to find that countless profile images are surrounded by colourful frames alluding to different seasons or causes?
The rise of Facebook frames is a tool that lets users show their support for specific causes and occasions, adding a border to their existing profile image in a visual form of expression. And the availability of frames is incredibly widespread, with countless options that change regularly.
But how do you access these Facebook frames and add one to your own profile picture?
5 Steps to Add a Frame to Your Profile Picture
- Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and then click on your name to navigate to your profile
- Click directly on your profile picture and select ‘Add Frame’ from the pop up menu
- Browse the variety of suggested and popular frames, including those that are trending and those that have been used by your friends on Facebook
- Once you’ve chosen the right frame, click on it and head to the preview page to check its alignment with your profile photo
- When you’re happy with the selected image, you can add a caption that will appear alongside this update on your profile feed, and share it with your friends and wider Facebook community
NOTE: When updating your profile photo with a frame, you will see at the top of the screen that this information is set to ‘Public’ by default. This is to ensure that users can find your profile when searching to add you as a friend – and will remain Public even if the rest of your profile is private.
The access to your profile image for all users helps to minimise the issue of misidentification on Facebook search.
We hope this helps!
