How to Play Games on Facebook Messenger

Messenger is a branch of Facebook that operates for each user under their same account and with the same friends list, despite being accessed as a different app.

This means that Facebook users who want to connect and converse with their friends, either in private conversations or in group chats, can do so with ease – carrying all their account and user data from Facebook into Messenger automatically.

But, contrary to popular belief, Messenger isn’t solely about conversation and chats. Users can also share images and links, send their location data, and even play digital games with Messenger connections and friends.

Here’s how to start a game with a friend on Messenger.

3 Steps to Start Playing a Game on Messenger

1. Open the Messenger app and click through to your conversation history with the friend who you want to play a game with
2. Click on the plus sign icon along the bottom of the chat screen, located in the far left corner on the same line as the chat text box
3. Select the tab which is indicated by the gaming control

This will open a pop up menu of games that you can start playing in Messenger. When you select and click on a game, the other user will be sent a message asking them to play with you.

Once they accept and start playing, the world is your oyster – with countless quizzes, interactive games, and more available via Messenger. We hope this helps and inspires you to unlock some of the lesser known but exciting features of Facebook Messenger.
