How to Poke on Facebook

The ‘Poke’ function on Facebook used to be something that formed a major part of every user’s experience. The button to poke another user was clear and would appear on their profile as a deliberate activity to get attention.

Now, the poke function is hidden behind a few layers on Facebook – though the action is still available!

To find it, follow these instructions…

5 Steps to Poke a Friend on Facebook

1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your Facebook feed
2. Click on the magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner, and search ‘Pokes on Facebook’
3. Select the top option, titled ‘Pokes’ with a blue poke icon next to it
4. A new screen will appear, letting you know which users have poked you and inviting you to poke others
5. You can choose one of the many users listed under ‘Suggested Pokes’, or search for a specific user in the search bar

Clicking on the blue poke button will send them a notification that you have poked them on Facebook. While your reason for sending the poke may vary, the notification and user experience is always the same.
