TikTok filters have the power to transform the aesthetic of a post or video, purely by applying a colour-changing or light-enhancing layer atop your content.
While TikTok effects deal with the more interactive side of a post, filters are designed to give creators control over the tone and mood of their photos or videos. And with TikTok segmenting its available filters into four key areas, it couldn’t be easier to find the perfect one to suit your latest post.
But not every post needs a colour filter – with some creators adding filters only to find themselves wanting to remove it soon after.
Here’s a quick guide on how to remove a filter that you’ve added to your post – restoring it to its original colour palette and light setting.
4 Steps to Add and Remove a Filter
- Open the TikTok app and navigate to a draft post that you’ve been working on / start the process to create a new post
- Select the ‘Filters’ icon on the editing screen, and scroll through the various filters relating to Portrait, Landscape, Food, and Vibe
- Try the filters by selecting them individually and applying them to your image
- To remove all filters, simply click on the ‘Normal’ icon at the front of all options. Alternatively, you can click on the circle with the line through it which is in the top left hand corner of the filter options, to remove all edits and restore the original image / video
And there you have it! A quick guide to using, testing, and ultimately removing filters from your TikTok posts and content. We hope this helps!
