Creating a TikTok is as quick and easy as you decide to make it. Users can choose to select a few images and videos that they want to construct into a seamless video reel, or access countless editing features to really personalise and make their content stand out.

Either way, when it comes to making a new TikTok to share with your followers, you might find yourself needing to pause halfway through the process and return to your post later in the day. Which is why TikTok drafts are so important.

TikTok drafts can be saved at any time during the creative process and can then be accessed again by heading to your profile. Clicking on the draft from within your grid post view will enable you to reopen and finish editing the post or delete it completely.

But what about if you want to take your TikTok draft offline? How easy is it to save a TikTok draft to your device camera roll?

It turns out, pretty easy!

Why Save a Draft to Your Camera Roll?

The main reason why you might want to save a TikTok draft to your camera roll is to access editing features via third party apps, or to send the draft to someone who doesn’t use TikTok to get their thoughts and feedback before posting.

Once you have made your chosen edits outside of TikTok, you can reupload the content as a new video and share it to the app.

3 Steps to Save a TikTok Draft to Your Device

  1. Clicking on the large plus sign in the centre of your home screen, start creating your brand new TikTok post
  2. Edit your draft as much or as little as you like, until you are ready to save it to your camera roll
  3. From the dropdown of editing options on the right hand side of the screen, select ‘Save’ to download the TikTok draft to your device.

Alternatively, if you decide that your TikTok is ready to post but you still want to save it to your camera roll for offline sharing, you can do so from the caption and final edits screen. Simply switch on the toggle to ‘Save to Device’ before posting your TikTok. This will post the TikTok on the app and also save it to your camera reel.

And there you have it! TikTok videos which you can edit, finish, and share both offline and online. We hope this helps!
