There are a couple of different ways of knowing if you have sent another user a friend request on Facebook.

The first is to visit their profile, on which you will either see an ‘Add Friend’ button or a ‘Friend requested’ button underneath their profile picture and username.

If the ‘Friend Requested’ button is visible, then they have not yet responded to your request. If you are now friends and can see all of their profile information, then they have accepted your request. If the option to ‘Add Friend’ is visible, then they have rejected your request.

While this allows you to keep an eye on specific requests that you have sent to individual users, if you want a full list of friend requests that you have sent then you can find these through the following steps.

5 Steps to View Sent Friend Requests

  1. Head into your Facebook app and click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen
  2. Click on the ‘Friends’ shortcut box in the menu
  3. Select ‘See All’ next to ‘Friend Requests’
  4. Click on the three dots at the top of the screen next to the heading ‘Friend Requests’
  5. Select ‘View Sent Requests’ to open a list of the requests that you have sent

NOTE: If you want to see the requests that others have sent to you, head to your menu on Facebook and select the ‘Friends’ shortcut box under your username. This will open a list of requests that you have received, with options to accept or decline each invitation.

From your sent requests menu you can remove or unsend requests or leave them there in the hopes that the other user will see your request and respond at some point. Until then, why not use Facebook and the Mutual Friends feature to find other people to add?!
