Are you interested in tracking and monitoring how many people view and visit your profile on TikTok?
A popular analytics tool for businesses, creators, and budding influencers, profile view history is something that can be switched on and off with ease in your TikTok settings.
But there is one major factor that all users need to be aware of before turning on this feature. When you turn on your profile view history and unlock insight into who has visited your profile and when, you also give TikTok permission to track your visits to other profiles – making this information available to those users in turn.
Let’s take a closer look a profile view history, why it’s important, and what it means.
Why Profile View History Is Valuable
When you switch on the profile view history feature, you can see which accounts have viewed your profile in the past 30 days.
However, there is a catch.
All TikTok users have the right to browse and use the app with privacy protection, which means that you can only see the profile views of users who have the setting switched on themselves.
When you have access to this information, you can more easily see how your videos convert and capture followers and can see how successful your content is in attracting new and existing followers towards your profile.
Things to Note About Profile View History
As we’ve already alluded to, there are a few things you need to know about profile view history.
Every user has the ability to turn this feature on and off. If you switch it on, you also open your own activity up to other users. In short, if you want to see who visits your profile then you also need to be happy for your own profile visits to be tracked and made available to users.
This means that you will only see the view history of users who have the feature switched on in their own settings. So, the views you see and can track are unlikely to be an accurate representation of all the views your profile has received.
In addition, only users aged 16 years or older can access the profile view history of their account, and users who want to access this information must have fewer than 5,000 followers.
How to Switch Profile View History on (and Off)
With all that in mind, how do you go about unlocking this information? Well, it’s easy!
- Navigate to your profile page on TikTok and click on the menu button in the top right hand corner, indicated by the three horizontal lines
- Select ‘Settings and Privacy’ then ‘Privacy’
- Scroll down to ‘Profile Views’ and switch the toggle to ON (or OFF depending on your preference)
And voila! Once switched on, this small feature will allow you to see who has viewed your profile in the last 30 days (provided they too have the feature switched on!)
