Ever wondered about the accounts and profiles whose posts you see regularly on your feed?

While some of these users’ activities and interactions may be of interest, there are some who you want to stay friends with but don’t necessarily want to see on your feed every day. Which is where the follow feature comes in.

When you become friends with someone on Facebook, you automatically follow them as well. In addition to profiles, users can also follow pages and join groups – all of which are then programmed into their Facebook experience and pulled over onto their feed.

Of course, there are some occasions when a page or user might appear too frequently in your feed, leading you to want to unfollow them.

In this article, we’re talking all about the follow feature on Facebook, how to see who you follow, and how to unfollow.

Who Do You Follow?

The easiest way to determine who you follow is to work backwards. By this we mean, head to your friends list and then look at the list of friends that you have chosen to unfollow.

To do this, first navigate to your profile page and then scroll down your profile until you find the content block that’s dedicated to ‘Friends’. Tap on the box to open a full friends list and then select ‘Manage’ at the top right hand side of the list.

Under ‘Categories’, select ‘Friends You Unfollowed’ to see who you have chosen to unfollow and therefore remove from your feed.

Any friends who are not on this unfollowed list can be classed as people who you follow on the platform.

How to Track Your Follow and Unfollow Activity

If you’re looking for a more comprehensive view on who you have followed and unfollowed on Facebook, as well as the pages you have followed and chosen to engage with, then you can head into your Activity Log.

  1. Click on the menu button and navigate to your profile page on Facebook
  2. Select the button with the three dots, located next to your ‘Edit Profile’ option
  3. Tap ‘Activity Log’ on the menu then scroll through the carousel of blue headings to find ‘Following’

This will open a list of your activity relating to who / what you follow and unfollow on Facebook – including both Facebook pages and other users. All interactions are listed under the relevant date on which the activity occurred, giving you plenty of insight into how you use the app and how you interact with people and pages.
