Have you blocked someone in the past and now feel ready to reverse the action and restore them to your Facebook experience?

If so, then you’ve come to the right place.

But before we share the steps you need to follow to unblock another user, a quite thing to note. While Facebook and Messenger operate as two separate apps, they are connected under your account and profile name. This means that when you block or unblock another user on one app, the action transfers into the other.

So, when you unblock a Facebook account, you will automatically unblock them on Messenger – enabling them to send you direct messages again. This is important to bear in mind before you take any steps to unblock a user.

3 Steps to Unblock a Facebook User

  1. Click on the menu button in the bottom right hand corner, and select the cog icon at the top of the menu
  2. Scroll down until you reach the ‘Audience and Visibility’ section of the menu, and select ‘Blocking’
  3. A list of individuals and users that you have blocked will appear. Find the individual who you want to unblock and click on the ‘Unblock’ button to the right hand side of their name

It’s as simple as that!

The user will not be notified directly that you have unblocked them, but they will once again be able to see and engage with your content.

We hope this helps.
