What Does DRH Mean on Facebook?

Facebook and other social media platforms are packed with acronyms and abbreviations, some of which make sense away from the platform while others are purely used in a social media setting.

DRH is one which, we feel, falls into the latter category. Not only that, but its contemporary meaning means that it’s a term used by a specific demographic on Facebook – not one which receives widespread usage.

Unpacking DRH as an Abbreviation

DRH stands for Dead Right Here.

Still confused?

In short, it is used as a way of saying that a conversation is dragging out and taking up too much time. It can also sometimes be used to indicate that a conversation is no longer productive and should be ended as soon as possible.

When a user puts DRH in the comments section under a post, they are essentially telling those conversing through comments to stop responding. DRH is also seen in message streams and in Live Stream comment sections, when the conversation is straying or dragging.

Can DRH Mean Anything Else?

One of the interesting things about modern abbreviations and acronyms is that they can and often do have multiple meanings.

DRH isn’t a particularly common one, though the combination of letters could also mean ‘Do Not Reply’ – used as a warning against those who may reply to comments or DMs.

We hope this helps! The next time you see DRH in the comments of a post, at least you’ll know what it means and what the person is trying to communicate…
